KISS has been announced as a headliner for the the second annual Epicenter Festival, a two-day music festival in Southern California.
Though last year’s festival was held in Pomona, this year’s festival is scheduled for Ontario, and is already more than twice the size of last year.
KISS and Eminem will kick off the festival on Sept. 25, with supporting acts B.O.B., Bush, The Knux, Papa Roach, New Politics and Travis Barker. ( Read More…)

It’s time to mobilize the KISS Army! The band has just announced a North American tour for this summer, hitting amphitheaters and arenas near you.
Dubbed “The Hottest Show On Earth” tour, fans can see this hard-rocking band on the road for 22 dates starting July 23rd in Wyoming. Other key stops include Philadelphia, Dallas, Milwaukee, Raleigh, and Phoenix. Kiss tickets should be going on sale in the next couple weeks.

The death of Ronnie James Dio this past Sunday has left the heavy metal world in shock. Rock and metal musicians have taken to the Web to express their sadness and honor one of the elder statesmen of their genre.
The members of KISS have chimed in to pay their respects to their fallen friend: “We mourn the tragic passing of the great Ronnie James Dio. In addition to his powerhouse vocal ability, Ronnie was a true gentleman who always emanated great warmth and friendship to us and everyone around him. We will miss him.”
RJD succumbed to the stomach cancer he was first diagnosed with last year. He was 67. Memorial and funeral arrangements are still pending, but fans can expect tributes to be made by the artists who loved him and were influenced by his music.

KISS has been nominated for “Comeback of the Year” at this year’s Revolver Golden Gods Awards.
They’ll have some hard-hitting heavy metal competition with against AC/DC, Alice in Chains, Anvil, Fear Factory and Heaven & Hell.
The Golden Gods Awards began last year, as a way to celebrate “all that is the wonder and amazement of heavy metal,” according to the awards official Web site. Last year fans were treated to performances by Megadeth, Killswitch Engage, Hatebreed, All That Remains and Suicide Silence.
The awards will be presented on April 8 at Club Nokia in Downtown Los Angeles. The show will later be televised on VH1 Classic on Saturday, May 22 (air time TBA).
In the meantime, KISS tickets won’t be available for a couple more months when they officially begin touring on May 1.

KISS stopped by to Detroit’s legendary Cobo Center before it closed its doors for a much-needed expansion.
The venue means a lot to the rockers, who recorded their breakthrough album Alive! there 35 years ago. The venue hasn’t changed much since then – it includes stucco, cinder block walls and folding chairs.
To celebrate the occasion, the band played Alive (almost) in its entirety. Of course, they finished up the show with “Detroit Rock City.”

The new KISS release, Sonic Boom - the first album of new material in more than a decade - is expected to hit stores October 6th. But not EVERY store.
KISS has signed a deal designating Walmart as the exclusive retailer, along with Walmart.com and the Sam’s Club stores. The deal delivers a package of value for KISS fans everywhere. For the low low price of $12, Sonic Boom has new material, a complete, re-recorded greatest hits package and a live concert DVD. What a bargain!
Paul Stanley is excited about the partnership stating, “Besides our making the best KISS album in decades, Walmart has made it possible for us to include a bonus CD with 15 of our most famous songs and an additional live DVD, shot during our recent concert in Buenos Aires. So in every sense, Sonic Boom is the ultimate return to classic KISS form. You wanted the best, you got the best!”

During the 2-hour finale of this season’s American Idol, fans and idols alike were treated to a performance by Kiss in full make-up. They were joined by idol finalist, Adam Lambert, glammed out and ready to rock in heavy black eyeliner, platform boots and elaborate black wire winged shoulder pads allowing him to blend seamlessly with the band.
Lambert’s vocals complimented, and even surpassed, those of frontman Paul Stanley and bassist Gene Simmons. The performance included a medley of “Detroit Rock City” and “I Wanna Rock-n-Roll All Night.”

Eleven years since their last studio album, KISS has decided to make a new album!
The new record will have the classic 1970s sound and will be produced by Paul Stanley. The album is currently unnamed and is anticipated to be released in Summer 2009.
Here’s what Gene has to say about the new album: “We have 4 tunes recorded. If you’re a fan of our stuff from about 1977, you’ll feel right at home. All of us have taken up the songwriting call to arms in the same spirit we once did — without a care in the world and without outside writers. Nothing to prove to anyone. Just doing what comes naturally. Ignoring fashions, trends and with a personal vow from all of us: no rapping. There are plenty of people out there doing this and they don’t need four palefaced guys pretending they’re from the hood. Besides, I’m not sure how to correctly pronounce “wassup.””

Gene Simmons, of KISS, confirmed on November 26, 2008 that a new album will be in the mix for Summer 2009. Paul Stanley also stated that the new album would have a “real 70s KISS sound” to it. Both Simmons and Stanley confirmed that the KISS Alive/35 Tour would continue with a big tour of North America through 2009 as well.

Gene Simmons, the head of the KISS army, sent this heartfelt message this past week to Canada’s soldiers:
“Hi guys, it’s Gene Simmons. We know you’re in Afghanistan, we know it’s a tough one, I just want you to know from my heart we love you.”
AND he also sent a message to you:
“Folks, proud to say our LADIES OF THE NIGHT book just debuted at #7 on the LA TIMES Best Seller List (Non-Fiction). Thank you all for making this happen. I’m very proud.”
